WELCOMING OUR NEW YOUTH TENNIS DIRECTOR!
MONICA HERMAN, PTR, YOUTH TENNIS DIRECTOR We are excited to have Monica returning this year to oversee our Youth Instructional Programs and 14U JTT. Before choosing the Berkshires as her home, Monica managed Community Outreach for a large Community Tennis Center in Boston that is also an NJTL, all while leading a Boys Varsity Team in a very competitive Division I school. She moved to Western MA in 2022, and is currently Head Varsity Coach for both the Girls and Boys Lenox High School Teams. Monica has completed PTR (Professional Tennis Registry) certifications as well as High School Coaching Certifications. Her PTR certifications were in Coaching Tennis 10 and Under, Coaching Tennis 11-17, Coaching Tennis to Adults. Monica serves on the USTA Eastern MA Board of Directors as Treasurer. We are lucky to have such a seasoned coach! |
This is how Monica describes her love of tennis:
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in tennis is a passion for me. I love to give back to the community, teaching tennis to those who don’t have the financial means to learn the sport and to students that are differently abled. My fondest tennis teaching memory was watching one of my High School students with disabilities win his first Varsity Match. I cried from joy about how far he had progressed socially, emotionally and physically to make that happen.

We partner with the Lee School District in offering After School Tennis Programs.
All of our coaches and volunteers are required to be SafeSport Certified.
We believe that competition is what keeps kids in the game!
Kids love a sport when they love their coach and have fun with friends!
A mix of group and private lessons is the ideal for kids learning to love tennis! '
